Clonezilla adalah OpenSource Clone System (OCS), seperti halnya Norton Ghost, Clonezilla merupakan aplikasi yang dapat digunakan untuk backup dan restore hardisk. Clonezilla merupakan Free Software (GPL) berbasis DRBL, Partition Image, ntfsclone, partclone dan udpcast. Clonezilla memiliki 2 (dua) versi, yaitu Clonezilla Live dan Clonezilla SE (Server Edition). Filesystem yang disupport adalah ext2, ext3, reiserfs, xfs, jfs (GNU/Linux), FAT, NTFS (MS Windows) dan HFS+ (Mac OS).

Apa perbedaan antara Clonezilla LIve dan Clonezilla SE ?

Clonezilla Live dapat digunakan untuk keperluan restore dan backup satu komputer. Sedangkan Clonezilla SE dapat melakukan cloning secara simultan pada 40 komputer sekaligus. Hanya membutuhkan waktu 10 menit untuk cloning 5.6 GB image system terhadap 40 komputer melalui multicasting.

FreeRapid Downloader

Sejak kemarin googling cari download manager untuk Ubuntu yang support rapidhshare premium account, satu demi satu dicoba, ngga ada yang sesuai harapan. Finally my search result give me FreeRapid Downloader. Sesuai dengan namanya, FreeRapid, software ini men-download file sebagai free user. Dengan memasukkan link-link rapidshare si software akan mendownload file satu persatu, ya satu persatu dimana setiap akan mendownload si software membutuhkan waktu 60 detik untuk mendownload (namanya juga free account :mrgreen:). Kelebihannya software ini mendownload menggunakan menggunakan proxy list dan dibuat menggunakan bahasa Java, sehingga kita hanya membutuhkan JRE dan FreeRapid Downloader akan berjalan di semua sistem operasi.

Ext2 Installable File System For Windows

Tadi saya sempat kaget pada waktu flash disk saya tidak terbaca, saya pikir rusak, akhirnya saya ingat dua hari yang lalu flash disk saya format menggunakan ext3. Berhubung ada data penting disitu & saya malas ke ruang server yang SUPER DINGIN untuk backup data akhirnya saya googling. Finally saya temukan FREEWARE yang bisa membaca dan ‘menulis’ drive dengan file system ext2 / ext3, namanya EXT2 Installable File System For Windows.

FREEWARE ini mengijinkan kita untuk menulis dan membaca EXT2 pada sistem operasi Windows, tapi untuk EXT3 hanya bisa membaca.

Wah … Lama ngga posting, bukan hanya karena bingung mau posting apa tapi dalam 2 minggu ini saya terkena musibah (penyakit) dan cobaan (pekerjaan). Sebelumnya saya mau ucapkan selamat untuk mahasiswa AKATEL yang berhasil / lulus melewati semester 1, semoga IPK-nya meningkat di semester depan. Untuk 34 mahasiswa *klo ngga salah* yang tidak dapat melanjutkan beasiswanya, saya ucapkan semoga kesuksesan senantiasa menyertai teman2 semua.

Pada tanggal 12 - 13 Maret 2008 saya sempat ke Semarang *Bandungan tepatnya* untuk mengikut Pelatihan Pelaporan EPSBED, pelatihan yang dilaksanakan secara rutin tiap semester ini merupakan ajang kumpul para operator EPSBED, selain berdiskusi pada pelatihan ini pihak kopertis mensosialisasi menu-menu terbaru dari EPSBED, bagian ini yang selalu membuat saya menarik nafas lebih dalam. Kenapa Karena dengan semakin banyaknya menu maka semakin banyak pula data yang harus diinputkan. EPSBED hukumnya wajib baik bagi PTN maupun PTS, selain merupakan salah satu tugas pokok saya, EPSBED juga menentukan kelangsungan hidup AKATEL. Kenapa 1. Data yang dilaporkan melalui EPSBED dapat diakses publik melalui http://evaluasi.or.id. 2. Pelaporan EPSBED harus 100% / lengkap sebelum PT (Perguruan TInggi) dapat mengajukan Akreditasi ke BAN, mengajukan hibah/bantuan lainnya dan juga perpanjangan ijin penyelenggaraan pendidikan. Laporan tidak 100% maka PT tdk dapat mengajukan perpanjangan ijin yang berakhir dengan penutupan PT. Artinya kelangsungan hidup warga AKATEL ada ditangan saya
